CHELSEA — This weekend, The Highline Loft is celebrating forays into forward-thinking creativity with its latest mixed-media installation, “The Future Is Now.”
The show, an invitational curated by No Agenda, Ad Hoc Art and Melissa McCaig-Welles, is a mix of colorful interpretations of things to come. The work of more than 50 urban contemporary artists, including Michael Holman, OLEK and William Quigley, is on display.
Aside from its visuals, The Highline Loft’s weekend schedule also includes a lineup of musical performances, including Ralph McDaniels, Todd Sines Live and the current iteration of Gray, a group originally formed in 1979 whose members at the time included Holman and painter Jean-Michel Basquiat.
The exhibition, which debuted Thursday, continues through Sunday, August 4.
The doors are open at the fifth-floor loft, located in the West Chelsea Arts Building at 508 West 26th St. from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday; and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
