CHELSEA — YouTube will open a creative studio space in Chelsea next year, it was announced this week.

The 25,000-square-foot collaborative video production studio will open at 22 W. 21st St. in October 2014, the Google-owned company said.

The YouTube Space will allow filmmakers on the site enrolled in its ad revenue-sharing program to produce professional quality videos.

The studio will offer the site's New York talent all of the trappings of a television studio, including lights, cameras, editing suites, voice-over booths and sound stages. The company will also provide on-site training programs for partners.

While the studio will not be up and running until next year, YouTube is already offering smaller classes to partners, including one called "Pimp My Channel."

Aspiring filmmakers will have to apply for a spot in YouTube's Creator Residency program, which involves pitching a channel idea that could grow a substantial audience.

The company already has similar studios set up in London, Tokyo and inside a 41,000-square-foot space in Los Angeles.
