EAST VILLAGE — The body of a man in his thirties was discovered Saturday morning in Tompkins Square Park, the NYPD said.
The unidentified man, whose identity was not released, was discovered by a passerby who called 911, but when rescuers arrived at 8:20 a.m. they pronounced the man dead at the scene, according to the NYPD and reports on Gothamist.
No trauma was found on the body, which was discovered inside a field near the park's St. Marks Place and Avenue A entrance, the NYPD said.
An investigation is ongoing.
