NEW YORK CITY — A thief barged into an 85-year-old woman's Chinatown apartment, shoved her to the ground and ran off with her cash, cops said.

The woman, whose identity was not released, stepped off the elevator in the Smith Houses with the suspect and was entering her home when he forced his way in about 10:45 a.m. on July 21, according to the NYPD.

The suspect, whom police identified as Clemente Rivera, 43, pushed her to the floor and stole the cash she had on her and in her apartment before running away, police said.

The woman refused medical treatment at the scene, cops said.
