QUEENS — A Forest Hills yoga studio, hoping to provide classes to those with limited budgets, has launched a  program with pay-as-you-wish pricing.

The classes are taught by new instructors, who recently received their training certificate.

“It’s sort of a win-win for everybody,” said Suzanne Scholten, the owner and an instructor at BambooMoves Yoga Studio on Queens Boulevard.

The six newly certified yoga teachers will rotate among two classes a week (held Wednesday at 6 a.m. and Friday at 5 p.m.).

“It will give them some teaching experience and there are lots of people who can’t afford yoga classes," Scholten said. "So we decided to put out 'donation classes.'”

The suggested donation is $5, but Scholten said she would like participants to give a minimum of $3.

For those who can’t affort to pay for yoga classes at all, Scholten said the studio allows people to volunteer at the studio in exchange for classes.

A single class at BambooMoves costs $20, although most studio-goers have packages which make the price of one class between $13 and $16, Scholten said.

The studio is also organizing “hiking yoga.” On July 28, participants will head to Bear Mountain, where they will hike, meditate and practice yoga.

“It’s a nice getaway,” Scholten said.

The cost of the trip to Bear Montain is $65. For those who will go for the trip by a van supplied by the studio, the cost will be $75.

BambooMoves Yoga Studio is located at 107-40 Queens Blvd. Suite 206, Forest Hills.
