EAST VILLAGE — An 18-year-old was shot to death after a gunman opened fire outside a public housing development on Friday night, police said.

Deontay Moore, 18, who lived on E.10th Street, died on Saturday morning after he was struck by gunfire released into a crowd at 10:47 p.m., the Daily News reported.

Moore was standing with friends outside the Jacob Riis Houses on Avenue D, near E. 8th Street, when two gunmen on bicycles shot into the crowd from a nearby courtyard, the paper wrote.

Moore was shot in the face, and had a bullet lodged above his left eye, before dying nearly 12 hours later at Bellevue Hospital, police and family reportedly said.

No arrests had been made Saturday afternoon, and a police investigation was ongoing.
