MIDTOWN — A tipster helped police track down a Japanese tourist who was reported missing last week, two weeks after she had last been seen checking out of a Midtown hotel, the NYPD said Thursday.

Ayako Sato, 47, was found "in good health," cops reported. Police tracked her down after receiving a call from a New Yorker who spotted the woman, a police source said.

Sato, who lives in Niigata City, was reported missing by her husband July 18. She was staying at the Hotel Metro June 22 to 26, but vanished after checking out.

She made one phone call to her husband July 9, requesting money. She had not been heard from since.

Sato entered the United States through California on May 28. She flew to New York June 22.
