ST. GEORGE — A 10-year-old boy was arrested on Friday after he allegedly brought an unloaded gun to a summer school and pointed it at classmates, police and the Department of Education said.
The fourth-grade student at P.S. 373, on 91 Henderson Ave., allegedly brought the gun to the school and pointed it at two other children before it was taken away, NBC New York originally reported.
Police said the boy was arrested at 1 p.m. on Friday, and the gun was a .45-caliber semi-automatic with the serial numbers sawed off. Police did not say where the child got the gun from.
A spokeswoman for the DOE said the student will face disciplinary action, and the parents of the school were notified of the incident on Friday by a letter sent from the principal.
