QUEENS — The City Parks Foundation is bringing its famed SummerStage series to Queens, with free outdoor shows and concerts planned for several venues around the borough over the next two months.

Queensbridge Park will host live concerts every weekday night this week, plus dance classes and a Michael Jackson tribute concert Sunday night.

Byron Cage and several other gospel performers will take the stage at Baisley Bond Park in Jamaica on July 28, the Greater Allen Cathedral Choir.

On Aug. 1, the Metropolitan Opera will give a free performance at Socrates Sculpture Park in Long Island City as part of its annual Summer Recital Series.

In addition to Queens, the Opera will be making stops this summer all five boroughs, including Brooklyn Bridge Park on July 19, the Bronx’s Crotona Park on July 23, Staten Island’s Clove Lakes Park on July 25, and Harlem’s Jackie Robinson Park on July 30.

SummerStage will leave Queens with a bang on Aug. 11, where the legendary DJ Kool Herc will headline a "Back to the Roots" celebration to commemorate the 40th anniversary of hip-hop at graffiti and street art center 5Pointz.
