TRIBECA — A quaint Parisian bistro has found a New York home in TriBeCa.
Popular French restaurant Racines, which has two locations in Paris, plans to bring its seasonal, locally sourced fare to 94 Chambers St., owner Arnaund Tronche said Wednesday.
“We want to have a neighborhood place, a casual place, but with fine dining, quality food,” Tronche told members of Community Board 1’s Tribeca Committee Wednesday night.
The menu, which Tronche said will feature “moderately priced” French food with an Italian influence, will include small plates such as roasted beet salad with fresh ricotta and razor clams with fennel, as well as main dishes such as fluke ceviche, white asparagus risotto and seared foie gras with figs and greens.
The cozy, 10-table eatery, which Tronche hopes to open by November, is taking the spot of Chinese restaurant Sunny One.
David Lillie, owner of local wine shop Chambers Street Wines, is also a partner in the New York Racines outpost.
Racines won advisory approval for its liquor license from CB1's Tribeca Committee on Wednesday. The State Liquor Authority will make the final decision on the license.
The restaurant plans to serve lunch on weekdays and open for dinner seven days a week, with bar service until midnight Monday through Friday and 1 a.m. on weekends.
