BATTERY PARK CITY — Two teens were arrested for swiping a Citi Bike from Battery Park City last week, police said.

Jayson Montanez, 17, and a 15-year-old boy, whose name DNAinfo New York is withholding because of his age, grabbed the blue-hued bike from 200 North End Ave. on July 3, according to police reports.

Montanez was arrested when police found him with the stolen bike a couple blocks away, at 81 Warren St. in TriBeCa, according to the criminal complaint. The circumstances surrounding the theft were not clear.

Montanez was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor. It was not immediately clear whether the 15-year-old was charged.

A lawyer for Montanez, who was freed on his own recognizance, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

A spokesperson for the bike-share program, which launched on Memorial Day, did not immediately comment on the theft.
