BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Kosciuszko Pool will dive into the summer on Tuesday with Senior Splash, a pool party exclusively for swimmers 62 years old and up.

Music and refreshments will kick off the morning pool party, in which participants are invited to enjoy free swim and water exercise classes. The program will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. until Aug. 23.

Senior Splash, which started last year, will also be offered at 13 other pools across the city this summer, from Hamilton Fish Pool on the Lower East Side to Lyons Pool in Staten Island. For more information on participating pools, click here.

In a video created by the NYC Parks Department, Annika Holder, assistant commissioner for public programs, said Senior Splash is “NYC’s summer initiative to provide a dedicated time and space for older adults to access our outdoor swimming pools.”

In the video, seniors bob along in the water, use water aerobics equipment and laugh with friends.

“You know, just [here] having a good time,” said a man with blue goggles on his forehead. "Age is nothing but a number.”

“I think the best part about it is that we’re here without the children,” added a woman in a white and pink bathing suit. “And it’s all about us…. We leave here feeling great!”
