CENTRAL PARK — A Broadway actress was fondled and robbed while walking in Central Park early Tuesday morning, sources told DNAinfo New York.
The assault happened after the woman, who works on a current Broadway play, had finished Monday evening's production, according to sources.
She had a drink at a nearby bar and met the assailant on a walk up to the park, sources said.
The man, described as 5 foot 8 inches tall with black hair and black eyes, attacked her inside the park about 2:30 a.m. near 64th Street and West Drive, grabbing her suddenly and throwing her down, cops said.
As he climbed on top of her, the actress beat him with her handbag until the suspect grabbed the purse and fled into the night, sources said.
