INWOOD — It took 18 months, but Bread and Yoga has finally found a new home.

The Inwood yoga studio announced Friday that it will be moving to a permanent location at 5000 Broadway, near West 212th Street, ending owner Marcela Xavier's exhaustive search for a suitable space.

"It happened after a year and a half of constant looking," Xavier told DNAinfo New York. "It worked out nicely for us. We're very happy that we're moving forward with it."

Xavier's studio has been hunting for a new location since it and several other mom-and-pop shops were destroyed by a January 2012 fire that ripped through a West 207th Street commercial building. Xavier has been operating out of the Holy Trinity Church since the blaze, but her search for a new home was hampered by the high rental prices of commercial spaces in Inwood.

Bread and Yoga is the second of the businesses displaced by the fire to find a new space in recent months. In April, Dichter Pharmacy opened its new location at 4395 Broadway.

Bread and Yoga's new, 1,400-square-foot space will have room for a dedicated kitchen and an art space for the studio's partnership with Scribble Art Workshop.

"We'll have everything that we need in that space," Xavier said.

The new space, which was previously an office, will need extensive remodeling, but Xavier said that she expects to be reopening by September 1.
