Friday, June 28, 2013 NYC Pride Kick-Off Rally
The rally, hosted by Pandora Boxx and Keith Price, features performances by Pam Ann and Vicci Martinez and kicks off NYC Pride's events. The first NYC Pride Rally occurred one month after the Stonewall Riots in June 1969, when 500 people gathered for a “Gay Power” demonstration in Washington Square Park, followed by a candlelight vigil in Sheridan Square. NYC Pride continues the tradition of this event each year at various locations throughout the city. This year, the rally will be held on Hudson River Park's Pier 26.

Saturday, June 29, 2013 — PS1's Warm Up and Street Skills Ride
Now celebrating its 16th-annual "Warm Up," the MoMA PS1's highly anticipated outdoor music series will continue its tradition of introducing audiences to the best in experimental live music, sound, and DJs — both local and international — across a range of genres. The annual series is held in MoMA PS1's courtyard, which this year will feature a temporary urban landscape by CODA called Party Wall, the winning design of the 14th annual Young Architects Program. The featured artists include Detroit's techno legend Juan Atkins, Londoner Lee Gamble, Heatsick and Bill Kouligas (both from Berlin), and Japanese DJ/producer NHK'Koyxen. Today's lineup is presented as part of ISSUE Project Room and Goethe-Institut NY's PAN_ACT festival. Warm Up 2013 continues at MoMA PS1 Saturdays until Sept. 7.

Looking for a way to get some exercise this summer but can't afford a gym membership? Bike New York's Street Skills Ride is a free, three-hour weekend program for adults and mature teens who want to increase their comfort and confidence when cycling on urban streets. Each Street Skills ride teaches the bike-handling, hazard-avoidance and street-riding skills critical to any urban cyclist. Participants often leave feeling more comfortable and confident on the road. Saturday's class is in the Bronx at Van Cortlandt Park's Southwest Playground. Register here.
