TIMES SQUARE — Designer Elie Tahari is exposing the inner-workings of his fashion house.
If you’ve ever wondered what goes into making high-end gowns and cocktail dresses, Tahari is opening a pop-up atelier to the masses. The 5,400 square-foot store will be on the ground floor of Tahari’s 510 Fifth Ave. design studio.
Passersby will be able to catch a glimpse of pattern cutters and seamstresses putting together the intricate details that make up an Elie Tahari collection. Model castings and photo shoots will also be visible to the public.
Tahari wanted to give customers the chance to be “part of the magic that happens right here in our design studio,” he said in a press release.
The pop-up store will also feature a wall of memorabilia and snippets from Tahari’s past, including interviews and dress designs that span almost 40 years in the fashion business, the release continued. The pop-up will be open until New York’s Fashion Week this fall, Sept. 5-12.
