SHEEPSHEAD BAY — A reckless driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in Brooklyn early Saturday before crashing his car into a tree was arrested Sunday on manslaughter and DWI charges, police said.

Steven Calandrillo, 25, of Sheepshead Bay, was charged with manslaughter, attempted vehicular manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, imprudent speed, and driving while intoxicated, police said Sunday.

Calandrillo was driving his 2012 Ford Fusion when he struck and killed Karin Eberts-Ayub, 53, of Stillwell Avenue in Gravesend at 2 a.m. as she was standing on the sidewalk of Shore Parkway, police said.

Calandrillo was headed westbound on Shore Parkway when he lost control of the vehicle and ran up on the sidewalk near Bragg Street, police said.

After smashing into Eberts-Ayub, who was declared dead on the scene by rescuers, he then ran the Fusion into a tree, police said.

Calandrillo was sent to Lutheran Hospital in stable condition, police said.
