NEW YORK — You might want to give yourself extra time if you planning on driving around Manhattan or Brooklyn this weekend, with a number of street closures planned in both boroughs.

Saturday:

Manhattan
West 8th Street between 5th and 6th avenues will be turned into a pedestrian mall from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Broadway between 47th and 57th streets will be closed from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. to for the New York City Young Republicans Times Square Expo.

The Evangelical Children's Parade will bring closures to East Harlem. The parade formation will take place from East 97 St from Lexington to 2nd avenues. The parade route will shut down traffic on 3rd Avenue between 96th and 117th streets, with the parade dispersing on 117th Street between Third and Park avenues.

Brooklyn
Bedford Avenue between Metropolitan Avenue and North 12th Street from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. to make way for a pedestrian mall.

Pitkin Avenue between Strauss and Amboy streets from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.will be closed to make a summer plaza. 

Sunday:

Manhattan
Lexington Avenue between 42nd and 54th streets will be closed from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the Turtle Bay association festival.

Edward Morgan Place will be closed between West 156th Street and West 157th Street from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Summer in the Heights.

The Harlem Cycling Classic will shut down the following streets starting at noon: Madison Avenue between 124th and 120th streets; Mount Morris Park West between 124th and 120th Streets, 122nd Street between Mount Morris Park West and Lenox Avenue; 121st Street between Mount Morris Park West and Lenox Avenue and 120th Street between Madison Avenue and Lenox Avenue.

Brooklyn
Seventh Avenue between Flatbush and 16th Street will be closed from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the Seventh Heaven Festival.

Graham Avenue between Metropolitan Avenue and Broadway will be closed from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the Desfile Y Festival Latinos Unidos.
