HOWARD BEACH — A plucky Queens resident sent two phony Fed-Ex men packing Monday afternoon after they strong-armed their way into her home during an attempted robbery, police said.

The NYPD is searching for two would-be bandits who tried to rob a Howard Beach home about 1:30 p.m. Monday while dressed as deliverymen. The bogus bagmen forced their way into the house near the intersection of 156th Avenue and 90th Street, but fled when confronted by an unflappable female resident, according to police.

Surveillance video shows the victim shooing the attempted robbers from her stoop. The pair left empty-handed, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto Crime Stoppers' website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or by texting their tips to CRIMES (274637), then enter TIP577.
