HELL'S KITCHEN — Brooklyn's only three-star Michelin restaurant — and the chi-chi grocery store that goes with it — will soon open a Hell's Kitchen outpost, the owner said.
After more than a year of anticipation, Michelin-starred Brooklyn Fare's first Manhattan location will open on West 37th Street within the next few weeks, owner Moe Issa told DNAinfo New York.
Just like the Brooklyn Fare in Boerum Hill, the new 11,000-square-foot spot will house both a grocery and a restaurant led by Chef Cesar Ramirez, who earned three Michelin stars for the Chef's Table restaurant at the Brooklyn location, sparking weekslong waits for a reservation for the $225, 20-plus course tasting menu.
But the new Brooklyn Fare restaurant in Hell's Kitchen will have a different vibe than the one across the river, seating 45 people as opposed to Chef's Table's cozy 18, and serving a menu of small plates rather than the tasting menu, Issa said.
The prices and reservation policy of the new Brooklyn Fare restaurant have not yet been set, Issa said.
The grocery portion of the new space at 431 W. 37th St. will open in the next four to five weeks, with the restaurant following a few weeks behind, pending approval of the spot's liquor license application.
Brooklyn Fare has been a hit since opening in Boerum Hill in 2009, with Chef's Table becoming the first restaurant in the city outside of Manhattan to win three Michelin stars.
First announced in March 2012, the gourmet grocer's much-anticipated Hell's Kitchen spot will be its second location and first in Manhattan.
