LONGWOOD — Two men were shot in The Bronx Thursday evening, and a third person was critically injured when an ambulance rushing to the crime scene collided with another vehicle, officials said.

The shooting took place at East 167th Street and Bryant Avenue about 6:20 p.m., the Fire Department said. One of the victims was rushed to Lincoln Hospital with serious injuries and the other was taken to St. Barnabas with minor injuries, officials said.

Two men suspected of being involved in the shooting fled on bikes, the NYPD said.

There were no immediate arrests Thursday evening.

Just a couple minutes after the shooting, an ambulance headed to the scene collided with another vehicle at Barretto Street and Southern Boulevard, injuring two EMTs in the ambulance as well as the driver of the other vehicle, the FDNY said.

All three were taken to Lincoln Hospital, the EMTs with minor injuries and the other driver with life-threatening injuries, officials said.

Police did not immediately have information on the cause of the ambulance crash.
