Thief Rips Gold Chains From Man's Neck Inside Apartment Elevator, Cops Say

THE BRONX — A thief followed a 58-year-old man into the elevator of a Morris Avenue apartment building where he yanked two gold chains from his neck and ran off, cops said.

The two were riding the elevator inside the building about 5 p.m. May 16, but when the victim started to get off the elevator, the suspect grabbed him, robbed him and fled, according to the NYPD.

The victim suffered minor injuries in the incident, police said.

The suspect, believed to be about 20-years-old and 5-feet-9-inches tall, was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans, cops said.
