NEW YORK CITY — A man has been arrested and charged with murdering another man who went missing in Brighton Beach last year and whose body was found upstate nearly a month later, authorities said.

Mikhail Chernyaev, 46, of Brighton Beach, was arrested and charged on Saturday with second-degree murder in the death of Upper East Sider Charles Butler, 56, who was last seen in Brighton Beach on Sept. 19, 2012, police said.

Butler’s body was found on Oct. 15, 2012, in Port Jervis, N.Y., cops added.

Chernyaev was the former boyfriend of Butler’s girlfriend, NY1 reported. Chernyaev reportedly admitted to hurting Butler while he was being interviewed by police on an unrelated matter.
