NEW YORK — Distressed actress Amanda Bynes took to Twitter to deny police reports that she tossed a bong out of her Midtown apartment window, claiming that cops sexually harassed her and arrested her as a coverup.

"Don't believe the reports about me being arrested. It's all lies," Bynes wrote on Twitter just before 3 p.m. Saturday, as part of a stream of posts that referred to press coverage of her Thursday night arrest. "I was sexually harassed by one of the cops the night before last which is who then arrested me. He lied and said I threw a bong out the window when I opened the window for fresh air. Hilarious," she wrote.

The NYPD's Internal Affairs Bureau is investigating, a spokeswoman said Saturday.

Bynes was spotted acting erratically in the tony Biltmore apartment building, where she had allegedly been smoking pot in the lobby at 7 p.m. Thursday, according to police and prosecutors.

When police arrived, they found her in her 36th-floor apartment, where they spotted a bong, they said. She claimed it was a vase, then opened a window and threw it out, police and prosecutors said.

Bynes — wearing a stringy blonde wig and sweatpants — was hauled into Manhattan Criminal Court and arraigned on charges of reckless endangerment, attempted tampering of physical evidence and unlawful possession of marijuana on Friday afternoon. She was released without bail.

Bynes gave a very different version of events on social media, claiming one of the officers slapped her genitals in a bout of "Sexual harassment."

"I then called the cops on him. He handcuffed me, which I resisted, quite unlike any of the reports stated. Then I was sent to a mental hospital. Offensive. I kept asking for my lawyer but they wouldn't let me. The cops were creepy. The cop sexually harassed me, they found no pot on me or bong outside my window. That's why the judge let me go. Don't believe any reports," Bynes continued.

Bynes' lawyer, Andrew Friedman, said Thursday that his client filed a complaint with the NYPD's Internal Affairs Bureau for inappropriate action, but did not elaborate. He did not immediately respond to calls on Saturday.

Late Friday night, Bynes tweeted, "I only smoke tobacco I don't drink or do drugs. I've never had a bong in my life! I need to get another nose job after seeing my mugshot!"

In the wake of the unflattering photos, Bynes wrote, "I need Nicki Minaj's wig person stat!"
