NEW YORK CITY — A nimble-fingered Yankees fan slipped into the backroom of a Bronx variety store across the street from the 42nd Precinct stationhouse and swiped a handful of cash from the safe, cops say.

The bold bandit, who appears to be a white male wearing Yanks cap and a blue hoody, slipped in the backdoor of the 837 Washington Street store and grabbed the loot at about 10 p.m. on April 27 before fleeing.

A manager who answered the phone of the Melrose store declined to comment.
