Suspect Robbed Two East Side Banks in 20 Minutes, Police Say

MANHATTAN — Police were looking for a man accused of robbing two East Side banks on a single morning earlier this month, officials said.

The suspect entered the Sovereign Bank at 711 Third Ave. near East 44th Street at 11:35 a.m. April 12, demanded money, and fled with cash, the NYPD said.

Twenty minutes later, the suspect went into the Chase Bank at 1100 Third Ave. near East 65th Street, demanded money and again fled with cash, police said.

Nobody was hurt.
