Astoria Boutique to Host Queens-Themed Anniversary Bash

ASTORIA — It's a party fit for Queens.

Astoria boutique and home decor shop SITE NYC turns six on Wednesday, and it's celebrating with a Queens-themed birthday party to honor the borough it calls home.

"I wanted to throw a party to really showcase all things Queens," said SITE owner Mackenzi Farquer. "I'm super proud to live and work in Queens, and wanted to pass along that enthusiasm."

The celebration will feature a cocktail bar stocked with locally made drink fixings, including Haber's, a small-batch artisanal tonic syrup made in Queens, as well as organic drink mixers from Long Island City's Cocktail Crate.

Local coffee startup Astoria Coffee will be serving Maker's Mark-infused iced coffee drinks, and Renee Heitmann, founder of the Single Girl Cookies project, will be providing baked goods.

Astoria blogger and foodie Meg Cotner will be signing copies of her book, "Food Lover's Guide to Queens," and local photographer Matthew Baker, also known as the Drunken Photographer, will be manning a Queens-themed photo booth to capture all the action.

"I'm so excited to be able to show off all the amazing things happening in Queens," Farquer said.

In addition to the snacks and booze, SITE will be having a big sale — everything in the store will be 20 percent off, and customers who spend $75 and up will get complimentary goodie bags.

Farquer has been stocking the shop with Queens swag just for the party, she said, including cocktail glasses, greeting cards, No. 7 train notebooks, T-shirts, onesies, tote bags and neighborhood maps and posters.

The "SITE Hearts Queens" party will take place on Wednesday, April 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. at SITE NYC, located at 35-11 34th Ave.
