TRIBECA — A woman who was found unconscious on the tracks of the Canal Street station was declared dead Sunday afternoon, officials said.

Emergency workers responded to the station about 1:15 p.m. after receiving reports that a woman had been discovered unresponsive on a trackbed at the station, through which the 1 train runs, according to the FDNY.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, authorities said.

UPDATE: The victim was identified Monday as 22-year-old Emily Singleton, a Park Slope resident, sources said.

The cause of death remains undetermined, pending an autopsy, officials said Monday. It was unclear if the victim was struck by a train.

A police investigation was ongoing, officials said.

The woman's death occurred just one day after John Williams, 58, of Washington Heights, was struck and killed by a southbound D train at 72nd Street and Central Park West.
