Two Suspects Arrested in Ellwood Street Shooting

FORT GEORGE — Two men have been arrested for shooting a 29-year-old man five times on Ellwood Street earlier this month, a police source said.

Luis Gonzalez, 24, and Noel Castillo, 22, were arrested by members of the 34th Precinct detective squad on March 20 and 21, respectively.

According to court documents, Castillo and Gonzalez both fired guns outside 108 Ellwood St. on March 20.

Five bullets struck Napoleon Aquino.

Aquino, 29, was treated for gunshot wounds to the back and buttocks at Columbia Presbyterian Allen Pavilion.

Castillo has been charged with second-degree attempted murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. Gonzalez has been charged with second degree menacing.
