Homeless Man Arrested For Trying to Rape Woman In Subway Station, Cops Say

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A homeless man was arrested Thursday after trying to rape a 21-year-old woman inside the Bedford-Nostrand Ave. subway station, cops said.

The victim had just gotten off the G train about 11:30 p.m. when Demetrius Morales, 23, offered to carry her bags up a flight of stairs on March 14, according to the NYPD.

As the two ascended toward street-level, Morales lunged for her. She screamed and he quickly fled, police said.

Morales has been charged with attempted rape, forcible touching and third-degree sexual assault, cops said.
