QUEENS — Cops are hunting for burglars in the Forest Hills area, who have broken into eight houses and stolen jewelry and other items over the past couple of weeks, the authories said.

The latest incident in the spree, which began on Feb. 22, occured Tuesday night, said Capt. Thomas Conforti, who oversees the 112th Precinct, at a recent community board meeting.

The burglars targeted homes between Metropolitan Avenue and Harrow Street and between Yellowstone Boulevard and Continental Avenue, Conforti said.

According to cops, the burglars entered through rear doors when the owners were not home and their main target was jewelry.
