ST. GEORGE — A Staten Island man who was arrested after trying to barge into an ex-girlfriend's Richmond Terrace home Thursday evening died shortly afterward, according to the NYPD.

A woman, 53, summoned cops to her home at 456 Richmond Terrace about 6:30 p.m. saying an ex-boyfriend that she had an order of protection against was banging on her front door, police said.

Cops found Irving Mizell, 52, and brought him to the 120 Precinct stationhouse, about half a mile away.

Once there, Mizell told cops he was having difficulty breathing and was rushed to Richmond University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The medical examiner's office is determining the cause of death.
