Queens Casino Getting New Shuttle Bus Depot in Jamaica

QUEENS — A shuttle bus service between Resorts World Casino and the Jamaica LIRR Station is so popular that the casino decided to provide guests with a new waiting room near the station, a spokesman for the casino said.

The bus started running in November last year. The daily shuttle picks up casino visitors every half-hour between 8 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. taking them from the Jamaica station to the casino, located at 110-00 Rockaway Blvd.

The new depot is slated to open in early spring. The space, located directly across the street from the Jamaica Station on Sutphin Boulevard, will be almost 2,000 square feet with more than 50 seats, according to the spokesman. Currently, casino-goers wait for the buses on Sutphin Blvd.

The new waiting area "will have seating, information on the casino and our offerings, and a place for guests to sign up for their Genting Rewards cards before they enter the casino to get them going right away,” the spokesman said.

The depot will be the latest addition to the busy transportation hub, which already features the AirTrain, the LIRR station, and the E, the J and the Z subway stop.
