QUEENS — This gives a new meaning to getting jacked.
Cops are looking to put the brakes on three suspects wanted for a dozen grand larcenies across the borough, saying the thieves are targeting drivers with a phony flat tire scheme before swiping property from their cars.
The three men have struck 12 times between August and February in different locations around Queens, including Woodside, Howard Beach and Flushing.
In each incident, one of the suspects distracts the victim by telling them their car has a flat tire. When the victim goes to check the tire, the two other suspects steal items from the car, cops said.
In some instances, the suspects offered to help the victim in changing the flat or to drive them to a mechanic, according to police.
It was not clear what was taken.
Police have released video surveillance footage of two of the the three suspects.
