QUEENS — A new high-end waxing facility slated to open in April on Austin Street — touted by a poster featuring a bevy of bikini-clad babes — promises “European pampering” for both women and men, just in time for spring, the owners said.

European Wax Center, a franchise, part of a nationwide company, is currently under construction in Forest Hills, but it’s already getting the attention of passers-by with a huge photo of several women wearing brightly-colored bikinis.

A slogan on the photo says: "Treat yourself to a little European pampering."

“We basically believe that skin without hair on it is a very sexy thing and we want to be able to show that beauty to people,” said Melissa Perlman, one of the owners of the facility.

Perlman said the center will offer a full range of waxing services for both man and women and will use unique and high-quality products, she said.

“The wax product that we use is formulated for us exclusively in Paris,” she said. “It’s a hard wax that doesn’t adhere to the skin, it only adheres to the hair.”

She also said that the wax at the facility is applied at room temperature rather than hot.

“It’s a much more comfortable process for the guests and it doesn't cause as much irritation on the skin,” she said.

Among other unique products that the center will use are body lotions that Perlman said slow the growth of hair.

Perlman said they picked Forest Hills for their new center because it’s “a vibrant and exciting community where people really care about the way they look.”

“We felt that having the really high-end hair removal facility would be very desirable in the area,” Perlman said, noting that the neighborhood has dozens of gyms, hair salons and nail salons.
