WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — A new food market is offering Uptowners a chance to buy low-cost fruits and vegetables once a week.

The Yum Food Market, a partnership between Isabella Geriatric Center and GrowNYC, offers produce every Wednesday at the Isabella Coffee Shop at 515 Audubon Ave.

Customers can pick their own fruits and vegetables or order $10 bundles of fruit.

"We're hoping through this program to reach out to the community and get more people to eat more fresh produce," market volunteer Mary Anderson said. The food is sold at cost, Anderson added.

The Yum Food Market is open every Wednesday year-round from 2 to 4 p.m.
