
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — A man fell to his death off the George Washington Bridge Friday afternoon, authorities said.
Fire officials received a call at 3:48 p.m. that the man had been hanging from the railing on the bridge's south walkway and was in danger of falling, a spokesman said. At 4:01 p.m., the spokesman said, firefighters arrived to find the man had already fallen.
The man was pronounced dead, a spokesman for the Port Authority said.
It was not immediately clear if any criminality was suspected.
