WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — Motorists planning to use the Harlem River Drive should plan for longer rides, as construction will cause lane closures all week.
One lane on the northbound or southbound side of the Harlem River Drive will be closed every day until until Friday, Feb. 15. According to the city Department of Design and Construction, the closures are necessary in order to install safety equipment on the High Bridge.
In January a construction worker fell to his death on the Bronx side of the High Bridge, which is currently undergoing a $61 million renovation.
