LINCOLN SQUARE — The weather. It seemed no one could talk about anything else at Fashion Week Friday. But the snow didn’t seem to stop anyone, especially celebrities, from their mission to see fashion.
Actress Jamie King flew in from Los Angeles to take in the Jason Wu show on Park Avenue. “I got in at 5 this morning,” she said. “It was like the last flight that got here. A lot of my friends got stuck."
But traipsing around from show to show in slush didn’t phase her. “I’m from Omaha, Nebraska, so to be real with you, I’m used to the rain and sleet and snow and blizzards and all that,” she explained.
“I’d prefer to be wearing high heels and not worrying about tights, but I like weather — it feels like something is going on.”
“Girls” actress Allison Williams was hoping for a complete snow-out, because “I am an episode behind [watching] ‘Downton Abbey,’ and I’m an episode behind on ‘The Bachelor,’” she said.
Though her appearance in a black and white dress at the Jason Wu show was perfect — her stylist Cristina Ehrlich adjusted her after every interview she did from the front row — she admitted she was headed for her pajamas at home.
“I’ve got a full deck of TV shows to watch,” she said.
The "Project Runway" show at the Lincoln Center tents first thing Friday morning drew celebs on top of Heidi Klum and her co-judges.
Marilu Henner, the former "Taxi" star a veteran of “Celebrity Apprentice,” shared why bad behavior becomes the norm on reality shows. “Everybody gets so tired and they get so broken down that their fuse gets so short. Little things that wouldn’t ordinarily bother you really bother you,” she shared. Still, “Some people just don’t like each other from the beginning.”
“Can I take a picture with you,” a fan asked Kristin Chenoweth after the “Project Runway” show, to which she replied, “Yes, let me get my gloves.” While her short silver sheath looked smashing, the short, black driving gloves did not. “I can’t afford to get the flu,” she explained. Good luck.
As the day wore on and the weather got worse, it didn’t seem to deter the boldface names from making the rounds. At Rebecca Minkoff, King showed up in a different outfit to join Ashley Simpson in the front row. Simpson stayed on for the Nicole Miller show, joining “Django Unchained” actress Nichole Galicia and the rapper Eve.
Nautica men’s show brought the biggest sighting of the day — literally — as “the Winklevii,” Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss took in the show.
