BELMONT — Cops are hunting a man they say brutally beat a 17-year-old girl before running off with her iPhone.

The man followed the unidentified victim into her apartment building on East 187th Street about 2:15 p.m. on Thursday Jan. 24, according to NYPD.

Once inside, he shoved her against a wall then dragged her down a flight of stairs, cops said.

At the bottom of the stairs he repeatedly punched her leaving bruises and cuts all over her face, police said.

The attacker then snatched her iPhone and fled west on East 187th Street, cops said.

The suspect is believed to be in his early 20s, approximately 6-feet-tall, 160 pounds with black corn rows. He was last seen wearing a fur-trimmed burgundy coat, cops said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477) or to visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
