MIDWOOD — A 15-year-old girl was fatally struck by a van in Midwood Tuesday afternoon just steps from her home, authorities said.
Sara Kishik was hit by a Ford Econoline van on East 7th Street and Avenue O just before 3 p.m., the FDNY said.
A witness, who only gave his name as Vinny, 52, said that the girl was crossing midblock when she was struck by the van, catapulting her into the air.
“She went into the air and hit her head on the ground," he said.
Police said that the driver stayed and no criminality was suspected.
The girl was rushed to Maimonides Hospital where she was pronounced dead, cops said.
