Accused Mott Haven Muggers Beat Man for Cellphone, Police Say

MOTT HAVEN — Police are looking for two men who allegedly beat and robbed man in Mott Haven earlier this month.

The incident happened on Jan. 7 about 4:20 a.m. when the suspects approached a 30-year-old man and started to punch and kick him, police said. They then stole his cellphone and money, the NYPD added.

The man was taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition.

The first suspect is 20 to 25 years old, 5-foot-9 to 6-feet tall, with a stocky build and a beard, police said. He was last seen wearing a black waist-length jacket and a black knit cap.

The second suspect is also 20 to 25 years old and was wearing dark clothing, police said.
