UPPER EAST SIDE — Move over, Baby Mozart — it's time for little Monet.

More than 300 elementary schoolers showed off their artwork at world famous auction house Sotheby's Wednesday night.  The event, called the East Side Children's Art Show, is in its sixth year and was hosted by City Council Member Jessica Lappin.

"It's wonderful to bring together young artists and the teachers and parents who inspire their creativity," Lappin said in a statement.

"Who knows? Sothebys could be selling their work one day."

Kids from P.S. 267, P.S. 527, P.S. 151, P.S. 290, P.S. 163, P.S. 77, P.S. 59 and the Child School took part, Lappin's office said.

They tots ranged from kindergarten to fifth grade and participants — selected by their art teachers — received a certificate from Lappin.

Children and parents were ecstatic to be part of the exhibition.

"I was so proud that they picked his art. He always liked to paint," said Higuemota Martinez of her son, Joan Hernandez. "We hope he'll be here next year."

Hernandez, a 6-year-old first grader at P.S. 151, said the show was "good" because he wants to be an artist when he grows up.

"I was super excited," he said. "It had all the art from our school and it was awesome."

"The first color my art teacher to got pick and the other color I got to pick," she said.

"Because you like pink?" Jennifer Calzavara, her mother, asked.

"No, I just picked a random color." The show was "very exciting," Sydney said.

Asked what the best part about the show was, Jennifer Calzavara said: "Seeing her face when she saw her picture on the wall."

"Seeing my face?" Sydney said.

"It's probably more emotional for me than it is for her," Jennifer Calzavara laughed.
