SHEEPSHEAD BAY — A 51-year-old woman was found dead in her Brooklyn apartment on Saturday morning, and police announced Sunday her death had been classified as a homicide.
Denise Parnell, 51, of Batchelder Street, was found lying on the ground, unconscious and unresponsive, inside her apartment at 9:20 a.m., police said.
Rescuers determined Parnell was dead at the location, police said.
On Sunday, police arrested Lawrence Wright, 55, who lived on Avenue X, two blocks from the victim's home, and charged him with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
The medical examiner's office did not have a cause of death immediately, a spokeswoman said.
