MIDTOWN — Hundreds of restaurants throughout New York City will break out special, prix fixe menus for 2013’s winter Restaurant Week beginning Jan. 14.
Among the 300 participating eateries are several dozen Midtown establishments, including several popular and pricey eateries aiming to draw patrons with the promise of $25 lunches and $38 three-course dinners available through Feb. 8.
Ai Fiori, on Fifth Avenue and East 37th Street, is offering a three-course lunch menu that includes a choice of pan-roasted skate wing in port wine jus, housemade ribbon pasta or pan-roasted chicken with spaghetti squash and hen jus. An appetizer and dessert round out the meal for $25.
Chom Chom, a Korean eatery on West 56th Street and Sixth Avenue, is serving up a choice of braised beef or pork ribs or miso-marinated black cod as part of its $38 prix fixe dinner menu. The restaurant has also put together a list of wine specials for restaurant week, including a Terrazas de los Andes malbec for $36 a bottle and a bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne for $45.
At the Glass House Tavern on West 47th Street and Eighth Avenue, Executive Chef Craig Cupani has put together a prix fixe dinner menu that includes a choice of saffron risotto, mushroom ravioli or organic green salad with Roquefort apple brioche for the appetizer.
For the entrée, diners can select from a list that includes filet mignon, organic roasted chicken with garlic roasted potatoes, seared red snapper with rock shrimp corn chowder, and orrechiette pasta with sweet sausage, broccoli rabe and pesto.
