LONG ISLAND — An 82-year-old Flushing woman was killed in a car accident near the Long Island Expressway in Suffolk County, police said.

Marilyn Mallon drove her 1998 Honda eastbound off the Long Island Expressway about 10 a.m. when she slammed into a southbound GMC near County Road 24, according to Suffolk County police.

Mallon was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center, where she died, cops said.

The 18-year-old driver of the 1998 GMC, Tyler Yaskanich, also suffered minor injuries in the accident, police said.

The investigation is ongoing and it didn't appear any criminality was involved, a police spokeswoman said.
