Developers Move Forward on Three New Bushwick Buildings

By Meredith Hoffman | December 4, 2012 10:43am

BUSHWICK — Developers are moving forward on plans to build 73 new apartments and a space for a community health center in buildings near the Gates Avenue J train station, community board members said.

The company Broadway Bushwick Builders plans to turn property at 9 Woodbine St. and 951 Madison Street into a mix of 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom apartments with a roof deck, Community Board 4 members said at a meeting last week.

The developer could not immediately be reached for comment.

Betances Health Center, a full-service health clinic which already has a location in the Lower East Side, will be on the bottom floor, board members said. Rents for the apartments will range from $858 to $2,600.

Not far from the planned apartments, another new building with 22 condo units is headed to 782 Hart Street, near the Knick condos, board members said.

The 5-story building will include 22 parking spaces, and purchase prices will range from $180,000 to $350,000, they said.
