Attempted Rapist Attacked Woman in Bed Stuy, Cops Say

By Aidan Gardiner | November 28, 2012 1:07pm

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Cops are hunting a man who attempted to rape a 21-year-old woman earlier this month, the NYPD reported.

The man walked alongside the woman about 1 a.m. on Nov. 16 before grabbing her and trying to rape her on the street, police said.

The victim screamed, prompting a passerby to come to her aid and thwart the attack, police said.

The woman was inspected by medical crews, but didn’t appear to have been injured in the attack, police said.

Her attacker is described as in his 20s, clean cut, about 6 feet tall, and last seen wearing a black jacket, dark pants, and a winter hat with drawstrings, according to police.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
