SOUNDVIEW — A veteran Spanish teacher at a Bronx middle school was arrested Wednesday morning after allegedly swiping another educator’s iPhone, officials said.
Police arrested Victor Soliz, 64, at JHS 123 on Morrison Avenue, near the Bruckner Expressway, and charged him with petit larceny, according to the NYPD.
Soliz came to the school as a substitute Spanish teacher in 1996 and was promoted to a full-time position four years later, according to the Education Department.
In 2009, he was transferred to the substitute teacher pool, but two years later he returned to his post at JHS 123, DOE officials said.
Administrators at the school declined to comment.
