QUEENS — Residents of Forest Hills fought for years to bring a farmers market to their neighborhood, so it's only fitting that their first one will last a little bit longer.
The Forest Hills Greenmarket, originally slated to end on Sunday, has been extended to Dec. 23.
The greenmarket's organizer, GrowNYC, announced the five-week extension via Twitter on Thursday, saying; "#ForestHills Greenmarket now extended thru Dec 23rd! Thanks all for supporting and making this possible!"
The greenmarket, which takes place every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of the Forest Hills Post Office on 70th Road, has been a big hit since it debuted in July.
It was approved in May after a two-year effort to bring a farmers market to the neighborhood.
